First day in Germany - Saturday, 12/13
We spent the first day in Germany visiting with Grit (Herta's best friend from when they were kids). We walked around downtown Frankfurt and the Weihnachtsmarkt (this is an outdoor German Christmas festival; it seems that most of the cities in Germany do this. It is a fantastic thing!). We drank Gluhwein, ate bratwurst on broetchen and looked at arts and crafts. After the Weihnachtsmarkt, we paid a quick visit to Grit’s friend Rilly (Grit and Rilly have been friends for about 50 years!).

Grit asked about you - I forgot to mention - and she says 'Hello'. It is interesting...you two are actually a lot alike!
